Dr. Nanhai Chen, PhD

Dr. Nanhai Chen is a pioneer in oncolytic virus research with over 30 years of experience. As the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of ViroMissile, he leads the development of next-generation oncolytic viruses, demonstrating a “one-shot cure for cancer” in animal models and preparing for IND filing. Dr. Chen’s career began in poxvirus research, including AIDS vaccines and biological counter-terrorism, but he has focused on oncolytic viruses for the past 20 years. He previously served as VP of R&D at Genelux, where his team developed multiple oncolytic viruses, including one in Phase III clinical trials. As an endowed professor at City of Hope, he developed new chimeric viruses, some of which are in Phase I trials. Dr. Chen has published over 100 papers, holds more than 70 patents, and has received several prestigious awards for his contributions to science.
